We are a not-for-profit Charitable Trust registered with the New Zealand Charities Commission.
The Foundation was established in 2012 for the purpose of:
a) providing financial support to suitable entities that work toward enriching the lives of New Zealanders in need through music;
or
b) providing emergency financial assistance to members of the New Zealand music community who are in need, or suffering hardship, illness or distress.
We have two funding programmes:
General Fund find out more
Musicians in Need find out more
Separate funds are maintained for each programme. Monies raised from all sources will be directed to the General Fund for distribution (paragraph (a) above). Only monies raised from within the New Zealand music community or from Music Foundation fundraising initiatives will be directed to the ‘Musicians in Need’ fund for distribution (paragraph (b) above).
The Foundation has one part time staff member (General Manager) and a governing board of Trustees (which is responsible for considering and approving or declining grant applications).
